Oasis has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician III at the Redstone Test Center (RTC) in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will support propulsion testing at RTC’s Test Area 5 (TA-5), including Atmospheric, Static Firing, Dissection, and Liquid Propellant Support operations.  The focus will be pre-test set up and post-test teardown of fixtures to include repair of same if required.  In addition, pre-test operation checks of systems and troubleshooting are often needed to ensure mission success.  Work is outdoors and subject to inclement weather conditions.  Ideal for the candidate who is team and mission-oriented, enjoys the outdoors, working with hand tools, and operating heavy equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or hardware testing in the appropriate area of specialization.
  • Or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 3 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements:
    • Mechanical – At least 4 years of the 5 years’ experience must include successful completion of 1 year of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of 2 years of mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.

SECURITY CLEARANCE Secret (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)

CERTIFICATIONS: Welding certificate(s)

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 3-5yrs

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: 

  • Successful graduation from a formalized apprenticeship program in welding or a 2-year Trades School Program with certification is preferred.
  • Successful graduation from a formalized apprenticeship program in Industrial Maintenance or a 2-year Trades School Program with certification is preferred.
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Class A and HAZMAT endorsement is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The technician will be required to support mechanical operations in and around Propulsion Test Stand/fixtures; Operate and maintain equipment for test support; LPART (Liquid-Propellant-Action-Response-Team) certified or ability to obtain once hired.
  • Comprehend various test setups and perform mechanical responsibilities while following applicable standard operating procedures.
  • Operate forklifts from Class VII and below, mobile and overhead cranes, and other similar industrial equipment.
