Senior COMSEC Technician

Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications Security (COMSEC) Technician at the USAF Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division in San Antonio, TX. This position is in the Information Assurance Technical Assistance Center (ITAC). The ITAC provides technical assistance on information assurance products and solutions. ITAC expertise focuses on Type 1 products, including in-line network encryptors (INEs), link encryption family (LEF), and secure communication interoperability protocol (SCIP) products to develop unique security solutions, resolve integration interoperability issues, and assist in the design of secure network architectures. The ITAC’s expertise stems primarily from providing engineering sustainment support to field users and extensive experience with evaluating security products and systems and integration testing. The ITAC combines advanced telecommunications capabilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and highly skilled engineers and technicians to provide first-class security engineering services to the USAF.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret with eligibility for SCI access

US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR ALL APPLICANTS

EDUCATION: GED or high school diploma

CERTIFICATIONS:  Relevant DoD 8570 certification is desirable.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 20 years of electronics, digital communications, or cryptography (COMSEC) experience, including eight years in DoD; or BA/BS degree and 15 years of experience in electronics, digital communications, or cryptography (COMSEC), of which 5 years must be in DoD; or an advanced degree and 12 years of experience in electronics, digital communications, or cryptography (COMSEC), of which 5 years must be in DoD.

Experience with Type 1 products, including INE, LEF, SCIP products, and other Type 1 cryptography required.

Experience in networking (routers, switches, and HAIPE/LEF devices) is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance on information assurance products and solutions, focusing on Type 1 products, including INEs, LEF, and SCIP products.
  • Troubleshoot, update software, and conduct testing.
  • Develop unique security solutions
  • Resolve integration interoperability issues
  • Assist in the design of secure network architectures.
  • Provide engineering sustainment support to field users
  • Evaluate security products and systems
  • Perform integration testing
