Facilities Management & Marine Operations

For more than 20 years, our MAR Division has provided, and continues to provide, specialized Facility Management and Marine Operations services in support of research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) activities for our customers. Specialized Facility Management is an interdisciplinary field devoted to the management and coordination of space, infrastructure, people, and organization, and is comprised of numerous core competencies to include engineering; emergency preparedness and business continuity; Health and Safety; environmental stewardship and sustainability; finance and business; human factors; leadership and strategy; operations and maintenance; project management; quality; property management; and technology. They understand that the discipline of facility management has evolved into both strategic-tactical and operational management. In the former case, clients, customers, and end-users need to be informed about the potential impact of their decisions on the provision of space, services, cost, and business risk. In the latter, our MAR Division ensures corporate and regulatory compliance plus the proper operation of all aspects of a facility to create an optimal, safe, and cost effective environment for the occupants and their clients to function.

We have taken this specialized facility management capability and expanded it to include the operations and maintenance of government vessels. The MAR Division has performed long-term, full-scale ship management and maintenance support on a wide assortment of government vessels, both in port and at sea. Our experience includes the management and support of shipyard overhaul periods; vessel modifications, alterations, and improvements; and comprehensive and complete operational support.  Highly trained crew and leadership personnel are teamed together to define, plan, and coordinate the time and effort required to get the job done. Our Team of professional mariners, managers, and engineers focus on comprehensive support to the United States Navy under the auspices of EXWC. Primary tasking is to operate and maintain the M/V INDEPENDENCE and RV ACOUSTIC EXPLORER and all associated government furnished equipment in an efficient and capable state of readiness to accomplish any of the varied tasks assigned.
